Referrals
If you plan to use insurance, we will need a referral for speech therapy from your child's doctor.
Please have your doctor fax the referral to us at (757) 540-1126.
*Tricare Prime Insurance
We are "non-network certified providers" with Tricare, so that means that patients will have slightly higher copays if they have Tricare Prime and will be using their point of service option. We can still see patients with Tricare Prime, but they must first meet their deductible, and then they will incur a cost share. We are committed to providing your family with quality services, and to maintain this standard of practice, attendance following the Plan of Care is essential. Progress is highly dependent on regular attendance, and continued treatment is only provided when benefit can be reasonably expected. Clients are required to maintain 80% attendance to avoid discharge, which is calculated using the most recent 3-month period.
If your attendance falls near or below 80%, you will be notified and offered opportunities to make up missed sessions.
Failure to meet the attendance requirement without scheduling make-up sessions may result in discharge from the schedule.

Yes. Occasionally, if your child recently received an evaluation at another clinic, we may be able to utilize this evaluation if provided; however, this is up to the practice's discretion.

Absolutely! We love having parents and caregivers in sessions! Your involvement can make a big difference, and we encourage you to participate whenever possible to help support your child’s progress. That said, every child is different. If you ever feel your presence might be a distraction, you're always welcome to relax in our waiting area. Likewise, if your therapist notices that your child is better able to focus or engage without a parent in the room, they may gently suggest you wait outside. It's never personal and always with your child’s success in mind.
